This session was a fun and different type of session, and I loved it! This was what’s called a “Gender Reveal Session”, where the expectant parents have the ultrasound to find out the gender of their baby, but they don’t find out the results at the appointment. Instead, the ultrasound technician puts the results in an envelope and the family finds out the results during a photoshoot!
This family was anxious and excited to find out their exciting news, and even though we were racing a big thunderstorm, we decided to go ahead with the shoot and we got done in record time, just before the sky opened up and dumped all sorts of rain! Whew!
Gender Reveal Sessions can be done a variety of ways, but with this one the expecting mom had it all planned out, and I love what they did! She had 6 white bottles of paint. There were 3 bottles with “girl” colors of paint inside- pink/purple, and 3 bottles with “boy” colors- blue/green. The plan was for the parents to be blindfolded and then I would look in the envelope that had the ultrasound results, and then I would give them and their little boy the appropriate colors of paint for them to spray each other. After some time, they would pull off the blindfolds to find out if they were expecting a boy or a girl!
Had to get a good before photo before paint started flying! 🙂
Big brother got to start first, and he loved spraying his parents with some paint! 🙂
Then it was time for mom and dad to have fun, too!
And then the moment of finding out that they’re expecting a baby GIRL!!
We had a lot of fun, and I’m so excited to meet and photograph that sweet baby girl in a few months!! 🙂
***Scheduling note- I have very limited availability for photo sessions over the summer, and I’m already booking into the fall and through the end of 2015. If you’re interested in a session, contact me ASAP and I’ll get you on my calendar.
